The gym is small and only has two squat racks. You get kicked out of the weights room with kettlebells when there's a class, which is frustrating as the rest of the equipment is usually occupied. Replacing the viewers gallery with a studio for classes and replacing some of the running machines with squat racks would be a better use of the limited space, in my opinion.

My favourite place in Edinburgh! Fantastic staff, very friendly community, super clean and with lots of light. The swimming pool is really warm and the sauna is just perfect 😍

Been here since I was a little girl. Now my son comes here for swimming lessons. Nice and friendly staff. Pity the family room is a bit too small as gets really busy and crowded after swimming lessons.

It is very nice, light and airy, and would probably be great for kids, but is not great for lane swimming, with extremely narrow lanes and a weird 23m length.
My main problem is that the changing room is tiny. Yes there are booths around the pool as well, I suppose but I've never been keen on them. Good big sauna though.

Warrender provides a mixed experience. On the plus side, it's great that you can leave your stuff in the cubicles next to the pool whilst you swim. The sauna is excellent too, and the light from the windows on the roof is rather lovely. However, the pool itself is 25 yards (not 25 metres) and so is a bit on the small side for serious swimmers, especially when the lanes have more than 4 people. The pool has a major issue with slow swimmers occupying the fast lane, many of whom do not give way to faster swimmers and cause quite a lot of frustration. The pool side attendants could be more proactive in managing this aspect to improve the experience for everybody. The poolside isn't always kept clean by the attendants and there is a problem with hair all over the place as most swimmers don't do the decent thing and wear a swimming cap. Recently, I've found the water quality quite poor too, with visible debris, a strange taste, and hair floating around. In general, there is little accommodation made for lane swimming, making it a frustrating experience on the whole, especially when it's busy.

A lovely swim centre. Not a huge pool at just under 25m but with a beautiful glass roof giving it an airy feel.
Friendly staff who will happily lend you floats etc.
Ladies changing area has been newly renovated. As far as I could see, no individual cubicles for changing but enclosed individual showers. Very clean and plenty of lockers.
Lovely sauna too and a gym.

Great Victorian style swimming pool in the heart of Edinburgh. Built in 1887 but given a modern upgrade in recent years and a popular daily swimming venue for many locals. Also the original home to Warrender Baths Club, one of Scotland's most famous swim teams.
