Great value for a short stay in San Antonio. Spacious room and good amenities. Staff were courteous and helpful.
Would love to see improvement in housekeeping as there were spill stains left on the desk from previous tenants.
Overall, we had a pleasant time staying here.

I cannot say enough about the staff. They were so helpful and friendly. Suite was spacious and comfortable. Great free breakfast and afternoon cookies.
The shuttle service was great, we didn't have to rent a car and worry about traffic and parking. Would definitely revisit.

Once again, our fave place to stay when visiting SA! Great location for a nice to downtown or any of the beautiful nearby neighborhoods that offer wonderful food, drink, and shipping options. The great staff are always available for help. The rooms are spacious and clean. And the free continental breakfast is not to be missed!

This Fairfield Inn is on par with most other Fairfield's. Rooms are relatively clean, beds are comfortable and it's decently appointed for the price point. Water pressure is very low and temperature was all over the place in the shower. I'd suggest trying to avoid a shower between 7-8 AM during week days. During this trip I didn't partake in breakfast, so no feedback on that.

My issue is with the hotel security. I stayed 1-night in this hotel and thieves tried breaking into my truck, damaging the door and locks, eventually settling for steeling my tail lights when they couldn't get in. The result was over $8k in damage. When the hotel was notified, they were indifferent and felt put out by me even telling them about it. They didn't want my name, room #, or anything and despite forcing them to take it, there's been absolutely no follow up. It was clear by their comments that they this is apparently more common place than one would have hoped. I was parked on the front row immediately in front of the hotel front door. Main takeaway, thieves are clearly targeting this hotel and general area... They need better lighting, security, empathy, and professionalism with at least some follow up.

I travel quite a bit, being Lifetime Titanium Elite with Marriott. In 27+ Years of traveling, this has never happened before.

I stayed here for Labor Day weekend and I found the service and cleanliness to be lacking.

The room I stayed in had dirty socks on the floor, the bathroom smelled awful, one of the beds in my room had dirty sheets, and the room fridge would continuously turn itself off after a short while of being on. At first these smaller issues didn’t bother me too bad but once I noticed the dirty socks and dirty sheets I became disgusted and frustrated.

I also became frustrated with the service when an employee gave my sister attitude while making waffles for morning breakfast. The employee was helping cook waffles since it was busy and many people were waiting in line for waffles. She asked how many waffles she wanted and ultimately snapped at her after answering this employees question. As a fellow customer service employee I understand how stressful it can be when working with people especially in a busy setting. However, I found her attitude to be unnecessary and unwarranted in this situation where my sister wasn’t being confused, difficult, or unkind in any capacity.

Another incident regarding customer service that I found worth mentioning is when employees behind the front desk were talking bad about guests. I overheard these employees complaining about guests using the shuttle bus which left me with an uneasy feeling as I was also using the shuttle bus during my stay. I understand having complaints about work/customers or certain circumstances but it should be avoided to discuss these complaints in front of guests as it makes the staff look bad and makes the guests feel burdensome for using the services provided by the hotel. Also, regarding more shuttle bus issues, I called the front desk and asked if they knew if the shuttle bus was running behind since I was running late and wanted to see if I could make the bus or if I should make other plans until the next one arrived. The person answering the phone greeted me then after asking my question the line got silent then hung up. I’m unsure if there was technical issues but this happened the same day I heard employees talking bad about guests using the shuttle bus which made me feel like it might be related.

Overall, rooms are disgusting and some staff can be unpleasant to deal with. On a positive note I enjoyed how close the location is to the riverwalk and the convenience of the shuttle bus despite the issues with the staff around it.
