Holiday Inn Express San Antonio N-Riverwalk Area, an IHG Hotel - San Antonio, Texas

Das Hotel liegt eigentlich ganz gut zum Riverwalk. Ich habe zwar schon bessere Holiday Inn Hotels gesehen, aber es war ein ganz guter Aufenthalt. Die Leute waren freundlich (nicht so herzlich wie z.B. in Fort Worth), das Zimmer war gross und das Parken kostenlos. Letzteres ist in der Lage im Zentrum durchaus bemerkenswert. Was ueberhaupt nich gut war, ist der Fruehstuecksraum, der fuer die Groesse des Hotels viel zu klein dimensioniert ist. Das war ein richtiges Gerangel ums Essen und viele haben sich mit dem Essen dann aufs Zimmer zurueck (und eine Spur der Verwuestung hinter sich her) gezogen. Wir sind am zweiten Morgen lieber an den Riverwalk zum Fruehstuecken.

Auf meiner Reise durch Texas hatte ich das Holiday Inn Express gewählt. Die Lage ist wirklich nicht zu schlagen, man kommt fast überall zu Fuß hin. Es liegt aber ruhig in einer Seitenstraße.||Das Gebäude war ganz früher ein Gefängnis, was man auch im Zimmer merkt, denn man schaut durch Gitter, aber das hat mich nicht gestört. Das Zimmer war nicht sehr groß, aber ausreichend für eine Person. Das Frühstück hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt.

negativ: Zimmerzustand unterschiedlich. Eins war o.k., das zweite kalt, feucht und muffig. Umfeld des Hotels und Sicherheitsgefühl im Umfeld gerade noch o.k.

Ob Market Place, River Walk, Cathedral, oder Alamo: es ist alles in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

Das aufmerksames Personal trägt zum Wohlfühlen während der ganzen Zeit bei.

Nice historic hotel, basic comfy rooms, location to downtown San Antonio is excellent for the price, good breakfast. Parking is workable. But BEWARE - they slapped a $250 security deposit on our credit card with no notice. When we made our online reservation, they were upfront about the room rates and even the parking fee, but were not upfront about this $250 charge. They tell you it gets refunded in 2-5 business days. I'm not saying they should not have a security deposit, I'm saying its not right to hide this charge and then spring it on you when you check in. Just be transparent and state clearly when you make the reservation that a $250 security deposit will be added upon check in!

Location is great. Rooms are cramped & stink like dirty mop water. Service is atrocious. 90% of the time the girls working at the desk are on their phone and it’s an inconvenience to them when someone needs assistance. And the parking! Just read the other reviews about that.
As a platinum elite member this is by far the worst experience in my travels across country at any IHG hotel. I tried to get a 2 o’clock check out on my last day but no, apparently they were fully booked but I check the app to truly see if they were booked and they were NOT fully booked. I have an account with Hilton and I just might go back. Plus Hilton gives complimentary water bottles.
Go elsewhere, you’ll only get a headache here

it was near the river walk which was nice
the staff was good but could be a bit more professional – we had late check in and even though the staff saw us outside, they didn’t come open the door until i called the front desk.
the breakfast was very good! made fresh~ wish there was more room to eat!
the rooms were amazing– high ceilings and it was very spacious!

The room was small. I wish we would’ve gotten something bigger. Breakfast was great! The location was great! The only thing is we stayed 3 nights and on the second night they “cleaned” and they left a lot of trash. We bundled all the trash by the microwave to be thrown away and it was still there when we got back. The towels weren’t changed out and the toilet wasn’t cleaned. Other than that the hotel was great.
