LOVE the interiors and food (sandwiches & pastries) - one of my favorites in LA for sandwiches and breads. You can find their bread loaves and pastries at local farmers' markets and some restaurants across LA.

Bub & Gma's offers a cute and retro diner vibe with a pastel palette and open kitchen. Wait was long on a Sat morning, ut there's an option to get pick-up/to-go from the corner counter. They also have a wide selection of pastries and desserts.

Our server recommended the brisket, Italian and tuna sandwich - and the sandwich is hefty so my friend and I shared the brisket with a croissant loaf (weekends only). Brisket sandwich w/ the grilled pineapple and mustard spread was a flavor explosion and the bread was so hearty and delicious. Key lime pie - pretty sweet but great "light" and tart dessert to share.

Roast Beef Sandwich / roast beef, cheddar cheese, dijon, onions, au jus, kaiser roll - 5⭐!
Old Fashioned Potato Salad - 5⭐!

I found out about Bub and Grandma's Restaurant when another place I go to advertised that their amazing bread came fresh from Bub and Grandma's. The bread was incredible so I made my way over to see if their menu matched my gluten obsession.

The menu serves breakfast and lunch with a mix of classics and new favorite. Everything looked great. The place was full and their take-out window was busy the entire time I was there. Always a good sign.

I was drawn to the roast beef sandwich. It was magical. I love food and I love all kinds of dishes. But when something sings along with my taste buds, it feels like a celebration. That is what this roast beef sandwich was. Everything about it was perfect. I was so enamored with it, I nearly ordered a second one.

I also had their potato salad. It was also excellent. It had great texture and flavors and was a perfect side to go with the roast beef. I was tempted by the bakery/dessert menu. I'd love to go back and try out the breakfast menu and their desserts.

The restaurant was roomy with lots of indoor seating. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone who worked there looked to be having a good time even though it was busy. They have a diner style decor. I was sitting next to a covered piano with funny signs warning me from practicing on it. It made me wonder when they have a piano player and how that would add to the fun ambience.

I found street parking around the side. I didn't see a parking lot. The tricky part to parking is that it is on a pretty busy road in a hilly area of LA. If you miss your chance for parking, you may need to backtrack or go around so you can try again. It is worth it! This place was excellent and a top five sandwich for the entire year for me.

Amazing bread with tasty, thoughtfully crafted, diverse menu of sandwiches and more.

The sandwiches are all great with great ingredients, but without a doubt, the bread is the highlight of every sandwich, unsurprisingly.

I would even recommend getting a side of toast with your order just to sample other breads.

The staff is very helpful and friendly and the ambiance is very inviting and cozy. Overall a great place to be. Just know that parking is a little challenging and there’s probably going to be a bit of a wait time, especially on the weekends.

This is one of those places that just feels right. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a cheerful atmosphere that's reminiscent of a diner-style space. The light-filled interior and cozy booths invite you to settle in for a leisurely lunch. There’s an easygoing buzz in the air, making it the perfect spot to dive into some of L.A.’s finest sandwiches. I stopped in for a late Saturday lunch and luckily avoided the typical weekend crowd.

The tuna sandwich was a classic done right. Creamy tuna salad, crisp iceberg lettuce (so crisp you could film ASMR), tangy pickles, mayo, mustard, and red onion—all nestled between two glorious slices of challah. The bread is truly what they’re known for, and it is easy to see why—pillowy on the inside with a slightly crispy crust on the outside.

The roast beef au jus sandwich was another winner. Tender, juicy roast beef with a rich au jus. The jus literally dripped onto the plate just enough to tempt the senses without making a mess. Melted cheddar and a mix of grilled & raw onion provided a caramelized sweetness. The kaiser roll was a spot on companion, sturdy yet soft.

The pickle plate was a simple yet satisfying sidekick with a nice balance of sweet and sour in between bites of these sandwich titans.

The service at Bub and Grandma's mirrors the ambiance. Friendly and attentive, the staff is always happy to help and make sure that you have everything you need.

Whether you’re a sandwich person or not, this place sets a bar that’s hard to beat. And those sweets staring at me from the counter? They’re next on my list, along with a few more sandwiches to explore.

The perfect Sunday lunch spot to split some sandwiches and have a sweet treat at the end! There’s a reason so many surrounding restaurants and eateries use Bub and Grandma’s bread for their own bread service or sandwiches. It’s no surprise that their own sandwiches are just as exceptional as their breads and pastries. Went with friends and shared a potato salad, the Bub Club on toasted Challah, Meatloaf on Challah, Curry Chicken on Seeded, and a slice of key lime pie at the end.

Don’t sleep on the meatloaf sandwich! Perfect ratio of core ingredients to bread across all three sandwiches. The meatloaf one was the only sandwich that got a touch messy, but still held its shape and was bursting with flavor and mixed so many textures perfectly together: crunch from the potato chips, pickles, and fennel, tenderness from the meatloaf, and the softness of the challah was the perfect sponge to soak up all the juices running from the meatloaf, which had such a unique flavor profile coming from the orange and pomegranate glaze. Wow.

My first time trying Bub and Grandma’s. The brisket sandwich was good and I would recommend it; the addition of apple mustarda gives a little extra flavor and moisture to the meat, without adding too much sweetness. The lemonade was very good; lemon took center stage and was not overpowered by sugar. The chefs making the sandwiches were nice and definitely working hard. Unfortunately, the table service was subpar. The waitress forgot to enter my side dish into the computer so I never received it. Also, no one came to offer or refill the water glass, which would have been nice given the 100 degree weather. Maybe it was a one-off day for the waitress. So, I’d like to try Bub and Grandma’s again and see if the service is better.

Ordered the Turkey Trot, potato salad and the PPM, and they were bomb. I’ve seen their bread advertised at other restaurants around town so thought I’d give it a try. Quality bread, excellent sandwiches and sides. I’ll be back.

Our LA friend kept raving about Bub and Grandmas so had to give it a try, especially since I love a good sandwich. We got the brisket and Italian sandwich. Different flavour profiles but both excellent. My wife and I shared so we had half of each. The bread was so tasty and the quality of the meat was top notch. Can’t wait to eat here again.
