This is my 12th Annual two week camp stay with the Grandkids! They absolutely love it! We camp in Site #1 which is right beside the sand Volleyball Court & Tetherball - spend most of their days in the pool enjoying the two diving boards and “big orange slide” or playing Mini Golf! The “Subway” is a huge hit to catch minnows or swim in the creek! Campfires, lots of laughter and many friends (new and old) in a very SAFE environment! Washrooms exceptionally clean and well maintained and a VOLUNTEER BOARD who runs everything and FUNDRAISES all year long! Yes the lineups for food and to get your swimming pass were long this year but I know the Board has already brainstormed to help remedy this for next year! It was wonderful to see the Pool BUSY and being used! Already looking forward to next year! 👍👍

I will start off by saying we use to have a seasonal site there 3 years in a row. We absolutely loved it. This year was totally different, Wood is sooo wet, $10 for 7 Pieces and could not start the fire with any of it.

Female Lifeguards were absolutely ignorant, 1 young male was decent. My kids got asked to leave pool deck with Water on a Hot Day, but yet 1 hr later 1 of the young guards wearing jeans and a hoodie was eating a family size bag of chips and a fountain drink from concession while sitting in guard chair.

They Supply life jackets but yet you can't go in deep end with parent with life jacket on.

They need a deal for campers for Swimming- 4 Night Camping plus 4 swim bracelets a day x4 is over $300

Workers drive WAY to fast through the campground in work trucks and when coming and going for work.

The people that use to run concession and pool were such nice people. Current ones definetly need an attitude adjustment especially when dealing with the public.

Pleasant, clean, modest fees, free shower.
But it's right on the Trans-Canada (Yellowhead route) and next to an active rail line... so bring ear-plugs to ensure a good night's sleep.

This camp site is very nice and safe. The pool was awesome on a hot day...and on a cooler evening it is heated and we loved that. Conveniently located 10 minutes from Russell but offers so much there's no need to leave. Just a very positive experience, friendly staff and well cared for.

My friends and I went here to get some quick food. All I ordered was a small poutine.

I’m not joking when I say I waited over an hour for my poutine. They had 5 people on shift. 1 adult female, 3 teenage females and one teenage male.

The adult female was the only one doing any work while the teens were sitting there talking and gossiping. I even saw them making fun of their customers. Not good service from them at all.

I hope the female adult can get some better coworkers who will help her out during busy times.

We stop here every time we travel west. The pool is awesome, and the love it as well as the mini golf and playground. The RV spots are big with lots of space. The staff is friendly, and the canteen is my favourite canteen from here to NB. They have classic delicious mozza sticks and ice cream, onion rings etc. The lifeguards for the pool are watchful and very responsible.
Definitely worth the stay.

Very clean facilities and very friendly staff and volunteers. Only complaint is with the pool. My children were told they had to swim 4 laps, front crawl and back crawl to be allowed in the deep end. One of my kids swam 3 front crawl laps and one back crawl. They made him do an extra back crawl lap because they wanted 2 and 2 but were not clear in their instructions. My other child alternated between front and back crawl. They told him he failed because they wanted 2 front crawl and 2 back crawl and he couldn't try again until the next day. The next day he clarified the instructions, then swam 2 front crawl and 2 back crawl. He failed again. The life guards said he "looked" tired. The test should be about your ability to swim a specific distance - not the ability to do front and back crawl (I would probably fail). The test should also be objective not subjective. Either you can swim the distance, or you can't. Not whether or not the life guards think you look tired or not. If you go to this campsite with younger children - even if they can swim - be sure to manage their expectations regarding the pool.

This is the COLDEST "heated" pool ive ever been to. We went on a day that was around +20 outside, and specifically chose this place because they advertise it as heated. Well, don't expect that to mean it's warm, It's definitely not. Secondly, the lifeguards there are very unpleasant. They didn't clearly explain the rules for the laps they require kids to swim, and when my daughter didn't do the backstroke to their liking she apparently failed and couldn't redo them and she was told to try again tomorrow. What a joke. I complained about this to the office there and in retaliation for complaining she chose to pick on my kids for anything they did while turning a blind eye to other kids dojng the same things. Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone unless you are just desperate to swim and there's no other options (there's other lakes and beaches in the area so that's not a problem).
