This days inn is located at a very accessible point from the Henry B Gonzalez convention center and river walk. It is like a standard days inn. I do not understand why people expect Marriott level stay in a Days inn. I was a woman staying all by myself for 5 days here and I never had any issues. Somebody complained about homeless people being around. I did not experience anything like that. I liked my stay here. The rooms appeared neat. Got daily housekeeping service. One thing I would say is the location of the registration office. It's out of the hotel compound across the street which is weird. If you have too many luggages it might be inconvenient going from the office to your room. This is probably the only days inn that charges you for parking.

Room stunk terribly. A/C would not cool the room. Found a piece of cut toenail on the floor, a bare footprint on the bath floor, proof no mop had touched that floor before we checked in. Front desk gave me a bottle of air freshener, but it didn't help. We left without staying the night because we could not stand the smell anymore. This place should be bulldozed. It's probably almost as old as the Alamo! I rate this hotel a negative 5 stars.

I travel a lot because family is all over the state. I try to find cheaper motels because we basically just use it to sleep between adventures. This one was clean, the shower had plenty of hot water, the staff was super nice and I didn't have to fight for a parking spot. FYI, there is a charge to park but it's cheaper than the lot across the street. It was a short walk to the River Walk and I will 100% be using this motel more often when I come to SA.

Went there for work 12/6/2024. Main office smelled really bad, a mix of gas and hot peppers with who knows? The room was ok in size and appeared clean. Latch lock on doornwas broken as if door was kicked. Iron was broken leaked water all over. Coffee maker had mold in it be aware always check!!! A towel that was neatly folder had a black hand print on it very nasty. Rooms are not sound proof you will hear other rooms conversations and tvs, isnclose to street you will hear cars and trains. Staff all male and look at you up and down if woman checking in late it will be unconfortable. Breakfast was ok but given all the other things infelt weary eating there so i only ate the can stuff. I will never go back and would give it zero stars.

Ok, so I know it was the cheaper hotel that is downtown so I was trying to keep an open mind about how the room would be but the beds had layers upon layers of sheets with hairs and one of the beds had a brownish stain and there was a lot of hair in the tub. I asked for clean sheets and comforters. They brought me sheets that were old and dingy. They brought me quited sheets instead of the comforters. The towels were dirty and they just folded them up. I am glad I had my own blankets and towels cause I would have lost my mind if I didn't. Those towels had a blood stain and smelled moldy. I understand the prices were low but not cleaning the sheets and towels are just unexceptable.

For a last minute booking, it wasn't bad, but there are some things they need to work on. First, the address is 400 Bowie, but the office/front desk is across the street (with another hotel in between); the only thing indicating that was a poorly lit sign on gate that is not easily seen from the street at night. There is a fee to park, but the cost is not posted anywhere, so honestly, the desk clerk could just make up whatever price he wants. The desk clerk was not particularly customer service oriented. He had friends in the lobby that he was more concerned about chatting with than helping guests - well, except for the woman who was about his age that he was flirting with and going out of his way to help. Anyone else got a bit of an eye-roll and chuckle each time he looked over at his friends. He wasn't particularly good about giving basic info including where our rooms were located (remember, half the rooms were across the street).

The rooms were tidy, although I did find a couple of dead crickets in the room. The bathroom was spotless, and they had a great towel rack. Beds were comfortable.

It is close to downtown and walking distance to the Alamo. At night, I wouldn't venture out alone as the neighborhood had a few sketchy individuals hanging about.

Basic motel near the busy tourist area of the Alamo and Riverwalk. Unfortunately, there's a large homeless population in the area that takes away. Staff upon check in was ok. Room felt dingy and not fully clean. Some dirt from outside on the floor and a few random long hair strands on the beds and tub. Parking fee was a bit higher than I would've liked. If you're looking for a cheap basic place to stay, this will work.
