Nice views of the Sound and the Throgs Neck Bridge. History, former army fort and current facilities for fire department, marine patrols , etc. Good for a walk, check out the history, playground for the kids, etc. Not a place for hiking or a long walk, but nice place to get out, walk the dog, take a stroll, etc.

Cars must have a pass to go in, but there’s a good sized parking lot just outside the front gate.

The Mike mile is now extended to Whitestone. The fort is still free to visit and amazing for photos. Visitor center has historical pics and preserved animals. Great to visit with family.

Great place to take a walk clear your head and get some fresh air and a smiling face here and there..but my oh my some of the girls there are SMOKIN HOT..too bad none of them talks to
you..they just keep jogging or walk bye like you don't exist..ha..thats not sure I've gotten some eye contact and nice smiles...but go there sit on a bench...start a conversation such nice people there all from different parts of the world

Quiet Beautiful scenic view. Parking available and surprisingly clean restroom facilities (for a park). Must visit. Perfect for photographers or just want to enjoy the smell that salty air.

Really cool old fort to explore — overgrown bushes and such make it feel like being in a zombie apocalypse movie. Gorgeous views, great little information center/museum with friendly staff. My one major complaint is that only currently-open bathrooms are (accessible) porta-potties that are kinda far out of the way.

Fort Totten Park is a hidden gem for photographers! While it may give off the impression that you need a permit, it's completely free for the public. The park is accessible from the parking lot, and you'll have to take a stroll to explore its vast beauty.
