Most of the staff at this recreation center are very friendly, and the pricing is excellent for people under 24. I usually come here to swim, and it’s generally a good experience.

However, there is one female employee in the women’s locker room who is unbelievably rude—easily the rudest person I’ve encountered in the state. She has scolded me twice in an unrelenting and aggressive manner, glaring at me the entire time. Both times, she even mentioned that cleaning the locker room isn’t her job. If that’s how she feels, maybe she should find a job she’s more willing to do. Her attitude completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable swimming experience.

Small dance room and doesn’t allow dance heels. The dance room is supposed to be for dancing and I wasn’t allowed to wear formal ballroom dance shoes since they don’t want to be responsible for a possible ankle twist. When I first got to the room, the most obvious point was that the room was incredibly small and there was a lady using it as a private room to train. The dance room has lost its purpose most likely due to the ridiculous restrictions of dance shoes and that’s why no one goes there. It’s probably not my problem if I twist my ankle in dance heels, considering that I’ve never twisted them at other rec centers. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Kwam, (I don't know how to spell his name) taught a wonderful class with weights and some movement.It was excellent, for young and older. It was my first class at a gym since early 2020. So I'm not in shape, but will be; after taking a few of his classes.👍

This gym is good for a workout in the neighborhood i live in the area and think NYC parks & Recreation need to upgrade the equipment and get the broken equipment fixed in a timely manner it has been months that im attending , and 5 machines broken its disappointing and the members deserve better & overall quality & working treadmills and bikes..

A complete gym with swimming pool, workout center, fitness rooms, basketball court for those that don’t want to spend a fortune at a competitor for gym basics. Annual membership fees are close to what you would pay for one month at a leading high end gym in the area. With the price will definitely be sacrifices to amenities such as no towels and not as much gym equipment so there might be a wait to use the machines.

Very affordable facility. They have a huge indoor pool with dedicated hours for lap swimming for adults. The lifeguards are very attentive. The locker room is not the fanciest but it’s always being cleaned by a staff person. Hours are great. If you are coming from far away, call ahead to see if they are open. They would sometimes close the pool for maintenance and not post the closure on the website.
