Our kids love Goldfish of Alexandria! The staff is really patient and nice. Danah at the front desk is always so helpful and excited. After the first and second class Jordan checked in with us to ensure we didn’t have any questions and gave us some helpful tips. The center is just so clean and runs so smooth. LOVE!

“Nova has overcome her fear of swimming. She was attending swim lessons somewhere else prior to joining Goldfish Swim School - Alexandria.

Now that she's with Goldfish Swim School, she's no longer afraid to fully emerge in the pool. Before, she would never let her face get wet. She is no longer afraid to "jump in". She enjoys competing with the other students, and her stroke technique has definitely improved. She's now able to swim the length of the pool.

Moved from Richmond where we used Aquatots swim school and thought we would try goldfish since it is closer to our new apartment that the Aquatots up here. It only took one trial lesson to see that going back to Aquatots was worth it. The whole place was run by teenagers who’d rather talk to each other than work. They did not discuss water safety during the class at all and the “skills” they taught were laughable. At my son’s old swim school he was going under the water multiple times, practicing his back floats, jumping into the pool into my arms and more. Here they only had him practice going under once and the majority of the class was him grabbing floating balls in the water while the staff chatted. The atmosphere was also too much. So many classes going on at once my son or I for that matter couldn’t focus on the little instruction that was being given. Aquatots goes over safety skills each class and here it was mentioned once. I’m glad we switched back it’s worth our sons safety in and around the pool even with the extra fifteen minute drive.

Edit: You don’t have an “M” on record because that’s my first initial. My son’s last name was Allen. And my review should be enough for you to think about making some adjustments. I’ll stick with Aquatots that focuses on safety and swim skills over socializing and playing ball in the pool.

I love Goldfish Swim Alexandria. Kyrie is the best instructor! She’s so patient and my 15 month old loves the water.

The classes are small and the water is warm! Each class has their expectations laid out and the kids are moved up as they advance (versus when they complete a certain number of classes). There are tons of staff, up to 4 students per 1 class. I think the teachers are also life guards but I’m not sure. But there are helpers everywhere, handing out thumbs up and high fives on top of what the teacher does.
They cancellations up to the minute before so that you can reschedule. They have family swim nights which are a lot of fun.

Loving our daughter’s swim classes every week. She’s become much more comfortable in the water and has improved on the skills they work on each week. It is fun seeing her interact with other babies and the instructors are patient and understand how to lead the class with babies her age. We look forward to coming to class each week!

We’ve been members since Oct2023……. In the beginning my 3y old would tell his instructors NO to almost everything! However, now he puts his head under the water! I can remember when his instructor first dipped him & he was terrified. I thought for sure, it was our last month but we encouraged him to keep trying and now he does it! I’ve seen such an improvement in his progression! He looks forward to going and we can’t wait to start jump clinic next week through the 3rd week of July! I wish they taught adults because I’d sign up myself. Lol thanks so much for your bubbly instructors, their patience & their determination in my son’s progression.

The coaches do a really great job teaching the kids and are very patient with them. My son is really excited about going to his swim lessons every time!
