I've been bringing my kids here ever since they opened. Every year we've never had any problems and this year has been no different. Out of all the Bakersfield pools I've been to this one is the best mainly if you have kids. They also updated their slides this year which is a benefit to everyone who uses them. Lifeguards are generally nice with the exception of one occassionally ( everyone has grumpy days). I find the prices at the snack bar decent to comparable to other places like it. Children 2 and under are free. Individuals are $4 each or they offer a deal for a family of 4 which is a couple of dollars cheaper. My kids had started coming here when they were pretty young and now they are teenagers and they still love it. The weight limit on the slide is 300 lb which allows even the plus-size patrons such as myself to have a good time sliding down into the water. I recommend bringing a camping chair that you can sit on because the tables are in demand and if you can't stop lawn you can set up your chairs in an area along the fence under some of the shade trees. They accept cash and credit cards to get in and at the food court. I do wish they would open at 12 instead of one at least on some days.

Love coming here with the family. Great environment and best way to beat the heat. The food is great also.

Fun and cheap place to cool off for the entire family. Everyone wishes they were open a little longer though. Lost a phone and staff held on to it, so thank you.
No running or horseplay which makes sense since they don't want anyone getting hurt. Lockers are available. Bring your own lock. Showers available in the locker room to rinse off. Slides look maintained well. No leaks. Pools are clean.
Overall a good place to cool off and hangout during part of the heat of the day.

Paying for double the price on food, without being allowed more than water, it’s make sense why itself 5$ per person, the park is pretty small as well, some staff that were males standing outside were rude (demanded our food, drinks and toys to be thrown) I understand it’s hot and a lot of people, but terrible customer service, cannot do much than repeating the two slide or swimming for a limited time, not enough shade for so many people, and strict, ruins the point of being with the family when you can’t even afford a nice meal there. I understand people must follow rules but fix the ridiculous menu for starters if you won’t allow outside food. Better investment to go to a public lake or beach. Less crowded in a small place and mood food options. I will not come back after this experience.

Water is clean. Locker rooms with great hot showers. Super nice staff and guards. Lots of very good lap swimmers which makes for a fun and motivating session when doing laps. My biggest gripe is the annual closure for maintenance. Usually around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It gets longer each year! Used to be two weeks. Then three, then 4. Last year it was Six weeks! Hoping this trend reversed. (Added this gripe on 8-02-24).
