Other than a log of duck and deer poop on the ground, this location is clean. Our family loved being close to the marina and the store.

Great place close enough to the metroplex to get away for a quick weekend of camping. We were so glad to see that the PK Park Store had changed ownership. The new owners have remodeled and brightened things up including adding an outdoor patio and grill items for purchase. The previous owner was not the most welcoming. The only thing I have noticed about this Texas State Park is the grounds have always needed mowing in the Spanish Oaks Campground. Other than that, we always are pleased with everything.

Loved staying here. They have the cleanest bathrooms we have seen so far. Hiking trails are nice and wide and have beautiful outlooks over the lake.

It's not a bad place to just get away for a day or two. If you're looking for serious hiking and primitive camping, their are better places.

Closest camp sites to the water. Not very much shade though. Picnic table and raised grill provided. Along with an outlet post, and water access. As long as you bring some sort of shade, it's a really nice spot.

Be careful if you come here and play mexican music over a cell phone speaker . We had the unfortunate experience in having a state park officer who walked into our campsite at around 12am (No vehicle). My wife and I were already in our tent laying down talking to our daughter who was laying in a hammock. We were under the campsite gazebo due to rainy weather. The park officer shined his flashlight the moment he got my daughter's feet in her hammock and shining his flashlight making it impossible to identify who is. The park officer says we aren't to play music this late at night without announcing himself. This frightened my daughter and wife till we all realized he was park police. We apologized for the music and turned it off. My daughter questioned why he didn't announce himself before he got so close to us and our campsite. This is when the officer escalated to we might be armed and proceeded to search our campsite. My wife was trying to get dressed. My daughter removed her sweater and bra on the campsite table next to her hammock. My grabbed it while he was searching for violations of some kind. My wife grabbed our daughter's clothes to give them to her. The officer snatched them her hands accusing her of hiding something. Which further frightened my wife and daughter. As they are questioning what he is searching for, he accused of hiding something. What we can assume is the supposed gun or "something big" as he stated in accusingly. All he found was a damn bra and sweater that my daughter changed due to being in the lake. He then accused of all us of acting suspicious and continued to try to find a violation. The park officer then asked who my daughter was to me. My daughter still bewildered as to why he approached us the in manner he did. As I was trying to deescalate what the officer had clearly intended to cause. I asked the officer if there was anything else that we needed to do. Since he pointed out empty containers in a box a violation. As I continued to deescalate and ask if there was anything else, my is now my daughter is obviously upset with why what is unfolding in front of her. She continues to question why is the park officer searching through our property. When she asked for badge number and full name he sarcastically gives her his card. My daughter asked for the name of his supervisor, to which as he is walking away, says his name. Definitely not a good choice if you are playing mexican music on cell phone. If you are loud at another campsite nearby, probably okay under the right conditions music wise. We definitely don't recommend this place if listen to mexican music. The park officer kept strangely coming by our campsite the entire day and twice after the incident in his truck. We have never had this happen at other parks. So camper beware. Didn't see the officer come by during the country or blues music. Tried to explain to my daughter about certain behavioral patterns to watch for in people. Not a safe place for certain people.

Very enjoyable for real camping such as tents. In my opinion RVS dont really let you get the whole feel of camping. A great place for everyone though.⛺
