My 9 year old started as a GS1. We finally got him in a swim class and we couldn’t be prouder of his progress. After just 10 classes, he went from a doggy paddle to learning four different competitive strokes. All of his coaches have encouraged and pushed him to be confident in the water. He is laser focused because they are engaging and he is able to follow their instructions very well.

I would definitely consider Swim Atlanta if you are looking for swim classes in the area. Also, we just found out they offer lap swim!

I would NOT recommend this location for parents who are concerned of swim safety. Parents are not allowed to observe students in the small swim pool and you can’t see what’s happening during the class. They put two classes in the small pool at the same time and the class in the inner corner is completed blocked by the wall, that if you sit in the parent area as rhey designated to you. An incident happened to my daughter as she was pushed by a boy behind her walking to the other side of the swim pool rushing her, and the coach didn’t see what happened (when my daughter got pushed and scraped her pinky which caused 1cm skin came off her finger). As my daughter cried, she was asked to “keep moving” as the coach didn’t see what happened. As I was talking to the coach to understand what happened, she was not able to articulate what she saw “as she didn’t see anything”. And I had to ask my daughter to describe what has happened luckily, she is old enough (5 yo) to describe the situation. If she were younger or can’t articulate, I would have no idea what has happened. Management didn’t volunteer to file an incident report and I had to ask the management to file an incident report. After we received the report, they didn’t provide a clear timeline when they will get back to me and I had to ask them to ask the manger to call me back. After we received the report and return back to the swimming area (before we leave), one of the staff named Natalie (who proudly announced her name) immediately followed us warning us if we make a scene, she will have us removed. We didn’t pass any of the areas where the management said we are not allowed to walk into. Throughout the process, no one in the school apologized nor showed that they were sorry what has happened - it makes us feel we deserve it and they only want to get rid of us. Also, they didn’t have a proper first aid kit to wrap my daughter’s finger. They provided a thin small (which they called standard sized bandit) and I found difficult to cover my daughter’s wound area.

I decided to sign up for the adult beginner swim lessons at Swim Atlanta after 36 years of not being able to swim. I came in with no experience and being afraid of the water. It was bad y’all
it was to the point where my own husband, after one trip to the pool with me, said he couldn’t teach me and would rather just pay someone else to do it. So I signed up for swim lessons at Swim Atlanta hoping to be just ‘a little more’ comfortable.

So y’all, I just finished my third lesson at Swim Atlanta and I really feel like a totally different person. My instructor Teddy nothing short of amazing. He was patient, he was kind and he met me right where I was at skill wise. He did not rush me, yet he challenged me just enough to help me leave each session feeling a bit more comfortable while acquiring a new skill. It really felt like he taught four individual classes (within the one group class), because the person that needed technique and form skills got just that and the person that was completely new to water was able to learn at their own pace. It’s definitely been challenging, but I’ll say that each time I go Teddy always encourages me, he helps me relax and I always leave being a better swimmer than I came. He has definitely has a gift. So if you are a new or beginner swimmer please do yourself a favor and sign up for his class!

I signed up for adult beginners in Dec and has been taking lessons with Teddy for 2 months. He’s an amazing teacher. The first day he asked me a couple questions to gauge my skill levels and my comfort in the water. He can see where everyone’s skills/comfort level is different and will tailor it to for each person, which in my opinion makes an amazing teacher. Once signed up for classes, you also get adult swim lap times that you can come in your own time to practice. I highly recommend Teddy and Swim Atlanta.

Good day everyone,

My name is Valerie everyone calls me Val.
I would love to share my experience with you.
Let’s begin, first and foremost I was so afraid, and intimidated due to the fact that I have not taken any lessons since I graduated from high school in 1978! Yep 78 now in my early sixties, my first lesson was with a phenomenal instructor, named Teddy. To my amazement my fears subsided quickly thank God! Mr.
Teddy was so kind and patient with me and assured me that my age did not matter, I can do this. With that being said
I must tell you I have tired to swim on a few occasions, vacationing with my family to no avail. Nevertheless, my goal now 45 years later is to get in the water without fear of drowning, conquer my breathing, and learn all the basics by my vacation/birthday! - Mr. Teddy has me off to a fantastic start with four sessions under my belt. So at whatever stage in life you begin this journey of learning to swim Mr. Teddy will help you get their he will inspire you to press forward with tenacity. His wisdom, compassion and love for this sport is evident. You ready? Join me lets swim!

Thanks Mr. Teddy

Hey there, my name is Erica, and I am a 46 years old female learning how to swim. I was inspired after seeing the success my 8 year old son had here at Swim Atlanta. My instructor Teddy, is amazing. Day 1, Teddy had me watch a short video, and asked me the right questions to gauge my skills, knowledge and ability level and helped me build the confidence I needed to be successful. Teddy communicates well and works with each student on their own level. Teddy is a Awesome Instructor.
